11-Year Old Stabs Family Member 9 Times; What Led to the Attack? [VIDEO & REPORT]

An 11-year old girl from Dallas was arrested last Saturday for allegedly stabbing a relative 9 times in one of the apartments in Oak Cliff.

41-year-old Toshia Edmonson is believed to be the little girl's mother, which reports have yet to confirm. The relationship of the victim and the attacker are still yet to be identified, along with the girl's name, as the case is dealing with a minor.

Police reports care of spokeswoman Cpl Monica Cordova says that, "It's family violence. That's all I can say." According to the reports, the 11-year old girl was dropped off around 11:45pm Friday evening in the apartment of Toshia Edmonson in Village Fair Drive, just nearby Interstate 35E and Ledbetter Drive.

The police says that to begin with, the 11-year old attacker was already angry when she got home. The victim then retaliated by saying she was going to give her away and pushed her to the couch. Authorities say that the girl had waited for the 41-year old to fall asleep. She then grabbed a knife and began to stab the woman on the head, neck and shoulder, well over 9 times. The woman awoke to the horror, was able to grab the knife and fell on top of the girl, which ended the attack.

According to Huffington Post, the alleged brother of the 11-year old witnessed the attack, saw both the girl and Edmonson bathed in blood and ran outside the apartment, screaming for help. The police arrived about 4:11 AM Saturday morning.

According to the authorities, the 11-year old stabbed the woman because she was "so, so angry and frustrated with her." The girl is currently facing charges of family violence aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is being detained in Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center. Edmonson was in a serious condition but is now stable and on her way to full recovery.
