New App, Turnyp, Helps Diners With Dietary Restrictions Find Restaurants

For those with special dietary requirements: gluten free, nut allergies, vegan, vegetarian or any other numerous restrictions people may have due to health or moral reasons, dining out can be challenging.

Many restaurants provide vegetarian options, but for any other restrictions, you're usually on your own.

But as with most needs, there's an app.

Turnyp assists diners in finding local restaurants the serve food that meets their dietary requirements. The app searches menus from a range of restaurants to determine the types of dishes available.

From the available results, the user can then search for the type of meal they need, narrowing down the selection by including factors such as "high protein," "low carb," "organic" and even "not a salad." The app will then show the results that meet the users needs and are nearby.

The app can by synced with Facebook, which allows users to keep track of their friends eating needs and preferences. Now you can make sure you don't buy cupcakes for your friend that is gluten free, unless you use the app to find a gluten free bakery.

Restaurants will also gain insight into the types of meals locals want, which can allow them to create dishes to serve that need, benefiting diners and restaurants alike.
