‘Pokemon GO’ Has Pokemon Nests That Can Spawn Pokemon Not Normally Seen In An Area; Metal Scale Doesn’t Exist

Players who see a particular Pokemon in "Pokemon GO" that they don't usually see in an area may have stumbled upon a Pokemon Nest, which are locations that spawn a particular Pokemon that don't normally appear in an area. Meanwhile, a special item that's called metal scale doesn't actually exist.

According to a report from Mic, the metal scale is not a special evolutionary item that people can acquire, as the name is actually taken from a combination of two items. The said items are metal coat and dragon scale.

The dragon scale item is used to evolve Seadra into Kingdra, while the metal coat is used for the evolution of Scyther and Onix, which are both Gen 1 Pokemon. The two Pokemon are said to have Gen 2 evolution and the metal coat, together with 50 candies, will be needed to evolve them.

Scyther will evolve into Scizor, which has a 236 attack and a max CP of 2,801, but a lower defense. Onix, on the other hand, will evolve into Steelix, a Pokemon that has a 333 defense but only has a max CP of 2,439, which the report says is 1,000 points lower than top-tier gym Pokemon.

Speaking of Scyther, it is a Pokemon that people can get from a 10km egg, but can now be acquired through a Pokemon Nest, according to UsGamer. Other Pokemon that players can expect to come from Nests are Pinsir, Kabuto, and Omanyte.

The report said that players shouldn't expect a Pokemon like Gyarados to appear in Pokemon Nests as the nests will only be spawning basic-stage Pokemon. Pokemon that also hatch from 10km eggs won't appear in nests, but it will likely change as evident of Pokemon like Scyther now being part of the Pokemon Nests.

As for where to find them, there's no sure method that can guarantee 100 percent that players will be able to find them. But the Silph Road's Nest Atlas is one of the best ways to locate them, as these are nests that are found by local players.
