"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" is the most anticipated film starring Chris Pratt as Star-Lord. Recently, Pratt has revealed his expectations for the sequel. He also talks about Kurt Russell who plays Ego, a living planet aka father of Star-Lord in the sequel.
In another update, the list of soundtracks for the second installment is revealed by Marvel. There is a total of 14 songs featured in the film. Fans are super-excited to see Baby Groot (Voiced by Vin Diesel) dancing on one of the tracks.
Chris Pratt acknowledges that there is more pressure now that wasn't there before, reported Variety. The report also reveals that Pratt feels that the sequel is even bigger and better than the first one. The first installment of this superhero film came with lowered expectations according to Pratt. But he feels that will not be the case with "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2."
Directed by James Gunn, the sequel has cast some actors as new cast members. They are Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Chris Sullivan, Sylvester Stallone, and Kurt Russell as Ego, father of Quill. Talking about Russell, Pratt says, "He's unbelievable," he further notes that "If you'd told me I would grow up and Kurt Russell would play my dad, I wouldn't have believed it," as per aforementioned source.
Meanwhile, almost each character of this film is likely to be featured in the tracks announced by Marvel. James Gunn says that Sam Cooke's "Bring it On Home to Me" is a beautiful song which is in Quill's mind. The song is about Zoe Saldana's Gamora and Quill, reported Rolling Stone.
The director also adds that George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" track has to do a little bit with the character Ego, a living planet's origin. He also reveals to the aforementioned source that the "Flashlight" track by Parliament is one of his favorite funk songs.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2" is set to hit the theaters on May 5. And the film is likely to receive the third installment. The exact list of cast for the "Guardians of Galaxy Vol.3" is not announced yet. It might be directed by Gunn.
