Have you ever dreamed about experiencing a night at a museum? Well, you'll definitely have that chance pretty soon with the American Museum of Natural History in New York. Finally, you'll be able to sleep with large dinosaurs and wake up with whales making noises.
According to Lonely Planet, the museum will offer a two-adults only sleepover event that is set to happen on May 5 and June 30 this 2017 between 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. For those adults who are 21 years of age and above, you can avail of the tickets that would cost $350 per person and would give you full access to the museum even on closing hours. For members, it would cost $300 per person.
The sleepover adventure would start off with a champagne reception at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall where guests will be able to meet and greet while the 12th Night Jazz Trio serenades the whole group. The admission price already includes the dinner buffet, beverages, snacks and breakfast. All the presentations, facilities and amenities are also included in the ticket.
After the reception, museum explorers would then explore the quiet and bare 45 exhibit halls of the museum. According to the American Museum of Natural History website, there would be special presentations too like the fossil halls flashlight tour, an IMAX film presentation of the film Dark Universe and a digital tour of the Egyptian and Peruvian mummies. Of course, the tour wouldn't be complete without witnessing the iconic T-Rex at the museum.
Following the unique experience, sleepers are expected to bring their own sleeping bags because they will be sleeping at the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life underneath the famous blue whale. But for those who wish to skip sleep and experience more of what the museum can offer, they can spend time at the Lunar Lounge where they can eat snacks and charge their electronic devices.
The Night at the Museum event has been a consistent program by the museum since 2006. For those interested, you can check out the museum's website and make your reservations.
