'Steven Universe' Soundtrack: Will The Album Feature Guest Star Nicki Minaj?

Cartoon Network's "Steven Universe" is critically acclaimed for many things, including it's music. The show's musical motif is heavily evident, and various instruments, genre influences, and melodies are allocated to specific characters - like Pearl is often seen with a piano, while Garnet is represented by synth bass sounds.

Recently, the network made a huge announcement that the beloved animated series' official soundtrack is on the way, Entertainment Weekly said. It will include music featured in the series, including the show's theme song "We Are the Crystal Gems."

The album is titled "Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1," and it is set to be released on June 2, Gizmodo reported. There are no specifics yet, but the press release said that the "Steven Universe" soundtrack album will feature "songs originally heard in the series' 120-plus episodes." The songs featured are chosen by the show's creator, Rebecca Sugar.

In a statement, Sugar said that she is "so excited about this album that I hardly have the words." She added that they "poured their hearts" into the songs, and they are now finally collected and re-mastered by composers Aivi & Surrasshu.

During the Season 1's "Coach Steven," Nicki Minaj did Sugilite's voice. Suglite is the fusion of Amethyst and Garnet, and many fans are now asking if Minaj will do a song on the album, too. Some viewers hope that she will and that the video will show her doing Amethyst and Garnet's fusion dance. Many agree that this will be awesome.

The series has a lot of great songs, like "Stronger Than You," "Here Comes a Thought," and "Strong in the Real Way." Cartoon Network is yet to announce the songs that will be included in the "Steven Universe" album. A lot of fans think that one album will not be enough to compile all the show's great songs, and they are expecting a "Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 2."
