The creator of the manga "One-Punch Man" and "Mob Psycho 100" illustrated a meme crossover that somehow pitted Saitama against Reigen Arataka. A special chapter of the manga also provided hints of Saitama's potential even before he acquired his unmeasurable power.
According to a report from Crunchyroll, the creator of the two mangas, who goes by the pseudonym One, shared his illustration via Twitter. The illustration is a dab at Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, whos' more known as Salt Bae.
The report said that spoofs and reposts about Salt Bae are popular in Japanese social media, and One came up with his own, using the main characters of his manga. The illustration shows Reigen pouring salt, ala Salt Bae style, on Saitama's head.
Genos, the disciple of Saitama in "One-Punch Man," and Shigeo Kageyama, who is the main character in "Mob Psycho 100" and also a disciple of Reigen, can also be seen looking at what's happening. Genos seemingly has a surprised and angry look, while Shigeo looks to be worried.
Picking a fight, though, with Saitama may not be a good idea, considering he has yet to be challenged in the manga. But one of the latest special chapter of "One-Punch Man" has somehow revealed Saitama was able to defeat a monster that's worthy of A-Class heroes, even before he became a hero himself, according to comments from Reddit.
The special chapter was somehow about how unreliable the monster rankings that the Hero Association provides but the chapter also showed that the first monster that Saitama defeated, Crablante, was a Tiger level monster. The chapter revealed that it would take five B-Class heroes or one A-Class hero to defeat a monster of that level.
Though Saitama was not yet powerful at that time, he was able to defeat Crablante by pulling out the monster's eyes using the tie he was wearing. That incident led to the creation of the Hero's Association and for Saitama to train harder to become a powerful superhero.
The "One Punch Man" manga is still ongoing, while season 2 of the anime adaptation is already in production. Check out the special chapter of the manga in the video below.
