Fans have been waiting for almost a year for the second season of "My Hero Academia" and they are eager to see the next chapter on how Izuku Midoriya became the greatest hero of his time. Good thing Season 2 of the anime has kicked off last April 1. The episode was titled "That's the Idea, Ochako" where it continues the story after the villains attack the training facility of U.A.High School.
The first episode of Season 2 of the superhero anime was partly a recap where it elaborates what was mentioned in the extra episode titled "Hero Notebook" which is basically a Season 1 recap. The episode took time reintroducing the setting of the anime where people have superhuman power that are called quirks. A scene was also shown where staff of U.A. High School are having a conference about the investigation results of the previous incident which is also like a recap.
According to Anime News Network, the series' season premiere was shockingly underwhelming because of the slow story progression. The episode was also filled with unnecessary fillers where the same thing was being told albeit with different instances. Though, letting the story to unfold slowly is not entirely a negative thing, season based anime like "My Hero Academia" will not play out better with that style.
Though the episode started off with a sour note, it redeemed itself with the announcement of the U.A. Sport Festival which is a big nationwide event that became the equivalent of Olympics in the anime. The anime is now gearing up with the new arc where this hero wannabes will battle each other as reported by IGN. All the students were fired up especially Ochako Uraraka where even her classmates are confused with her sudden change of character.
It turns out that she is really eager to prove herself in the upcoming sports festival so she can attract a good hero agency. Once she became a professional superhero, she will use the money she earned via crime fighting to help her parents and their dying family business. On the other hand, a scene was shown where All Might wrote to his mentor about Midoriya and his insecurities as a teacher. This hints that this mysterious mentor will play a huge role in the future episodes of "My Hero Academia" and we may even gain the information on where All Might got his transferrable quirk All for One.
