It looks like Archie Andrews is the new target of the Blossoms in "Riverdale" Episode 9 as Cheryl asks the redhead teen to escort her to a family affair. It seems the reason for the Blossoms trying to get close to Archie is to get to his father Fred.
According to a report from Flickering Myth, the synopsis for episode 9, which is entitled "La Grande Illusion," shows that KJ Apa's Archie will reluctantly agree to escort Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) to the Blossom family's start of the maple syrup tapping. Though Archie was hesitant at first, he accepted because of an offer he couldn't refuse.
The event, though, did help him get important information about Betty's (Lili Reinhart) big sister, Polly (Tiera Skovbye). The synopsis did reveal that Archie will soon doubt the Blossom's sincerity in helping him.
And it's not only Archie who will doubt them as some of the people close to him are also skeptical of the Blossom's assistance. Valerie Brown (Hayley Law) even said in the promo of "Riverdale" Episode 9 that the Blossoms are just buying him.
It seems that the reason for Cheryl Blossom and her family being friendly and nice to Archie was to get his father, Fred Andrews, out of business, according to Screen Rant. Cheryl's dad, Clifford, wants Archie's dad out of business so he can purchase Fred's building plot at a lower price.
The report said that Fred's construction business is already experiencing some problems with all his equipment being attacked and he thinks the Blossoms are the reasons for it. However, Jughead's dad revealed to Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols) that it was actually her husband who sent it after he learned of her affair with Fred.
What will unfold when all of the hidden motives are finally revealed? And does any of this still ties to the murder of Jason Blossom? Find out next Thursday when "Riverdale" episode 9 airs. Check out the extended promo for the episode below.
