The Titanic was one of the most sought after luxury cruises back in 1912. From its amazing amenities to its excellent services- it was the experience that the ship offered which travelers wanted so bad. But even after a hundred years, the iconic ship still opens up its doors to tourists.
In May of 2018, tourists will have the chance to explore the wreckage of the Titanic. The Blue Marble Private, a London-based travel company, is the one behind this unique experience where people can glide along the deck of the sunken ship. However, it is expensive and the company plans to target deep-pocketed tourists.
According to CNN, the whole voyage would last for eight days with Newfoundland, Canada as the starting point. With the help of OceanGate Expeditions, the tourists and the crew will be carried in a submersible vessel that's made up of titanium and carbon fiber. They will then be transported to the location of Titanic which is about two miles beneath the Atlantic Ocean.
The cost of the trip is $105,129 per person and as of now, all the tickets are sold out. The company stated that the price of the ticket was based on the inflated price of the Titanic's first class ticket which was $4,350.
Now, what do tourists get aside from witnessing the historical ship? Well, the clients will be given a fancy title and they will be called Mission Specialists. According to Fox 59, the tourists will not only watch the crew do their jobs but they will also assist them.
There are about three hours for each dive in a span of three days and tourists will not only witness the remains of Titanic but also the rich wildlife within the area. Despite the price, the company is getting a lot of clients most especially with the recent studies which claim that the wreckage will be eaten away by an "extremophile bacteria" in about 15 or 20 years.
