Five Places Where Your Favorite Stars Spend Vacations

Hollywood stars have everything -- including a private airplane that takes them to places that help them relax or find inspiration for their next roles. These five locations are commonly populated by the world's biggest stars for both relaxation, meditation and everything in between.

For US actors, Maui in Hawaii is just a flight away for less than an hour. For travelers in the area, waves are always crashing -- so surfing is a given. Hiking is another for some travelers and volcano tourism near the Haleakala volcano is a given. Of course, beach bumming with your favorite actors (who might show up) is always the best way for a relaxing vacation.

Bora Bora in French Polynesia was the final scene in the 2002 "xXx" Film or Triple X starring Vin Diesel where he had taken a vacation after his action-packed journey. Bora Bora is a haven for water sports in the form of jet skis, speedboats and even Kayaking. Scuba diving to see sea life is also another option.

According To Travel and Leisure, Hollywood stars prefer privacy more than any resort or hotel amenity could provide. Emma Thompson or even Ewan McGregor would travel to Jamaica during the winter and have some privacy -- along with possibly a private maid and cook, too. The resort is bright and lush with private beaches along its barred coast, which guarantees the sought-for privacy most stars need.

Jennifer Lopez and Harrison Ford love traveling to Los Cabos in Mexico because of LasVentanas al Paraiso, a resort that guarantees the warmth of summer with rooms having their own Jacuzzis and complementary consumables such as alcohol. The resort has 71 suites and private butlers guiding guests into rooms all offering a relaxing view of the ocean.

According to Travel Channel, it was in Italy's Amalfi Coast that iconic couple and now-separated Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt began their relationship. It was here they filmed "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." The Hotel Santa Caterina featured in the post is along the foot of a cliff offering a rich view of the ocean. Truly an iconic and beautiful location.
