The "Spirited Away's" No Face piggy bank is an item that most fans would definitely want to grab. No Face is a spirit who feeds on humans and steals their identity including personality. The anime film is quite a hit in Japan, which has been released on July 20, 2001.
According to Comicbook, "Spirited Away" is the highest-grossing film in the history of Japan and this was all thanks to its astounding animation, free-flowing story, and mystical setting and characters. The anime film was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and it was produced by Studio Ghibli.
If you haven't watched the film yet, the story follows a young girl named Chihiro as she ventures in a new town with her parents. But their boring trip suddenly changed when they stopped at an uninhabited village and Chihiro has been taken in an unknown-magical world. Both her parent got hexed by an evil witch and were turned into pigs. Thus, Chihiro desperately needs to work for the evil witch's bathhouse in order to break the curse and free both her parents and herself.
On the other hand, the piggy bank will be going on sale on May 20 and it will be sold for 4,800 yen approximately 42US$. Moreover, preorders have already begun through the chain's online, however ordering is temporarily suspended due to fraudulent orders on the website.
Placing 30 grams of coins in the piggy bank's dish will trigger the "Spirited Away's" No Face piggy bank to say "Ah." The bank starts playing music and then the dish will be placed on his mouth and chomps on the coins. After chomping the coins, the bank will emit a burp sound.
As per Anime News Network, they have reported that the film's No Face character is known for chomping on anything that is edible. If he receives a food as an offering, they will be rewarded with gold, which is a key factor that the piggy bank item will be used for.
The item will be sold by Benelic's Donguri Kyōwakoku (Acorn Republic) stores, and they are particularly selling items that are inspired by Studio Ghibli films. Watch the "Spirited Away" trailer below and subscribe for more updates!
