The "Tekken" franchise have gone very far from the original fighting video game that was first released back in December 1994. The series spawned off multiple sequels, spin-offs and being adopted into three films and other forms of media. It is also one of the pioneer on 3D fighting games and with its ninth installment the developers are returning some of the favorite characters from the previous installments.
"Tekken 7" is the most latest among the series which was first seen in limited arcades in Japan on March of 2015. In July of the following year, an updated version of the game titled "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" was released in arcades and the same version is set to release on multiple gaming platforms this coming June. The American branch of Bandai Namco Entertainment released a trailer featuring Eddie Gordo as a returning character for the upcoming game.
Eddy Gordo is a Brazilian martial artist who practiced Capoeira which is an old from of martial art where the practitioners seemed like dancing. He first appeared in the "Tekken 3" and appeared consistently in the following installments. He and his student Christie Monteiro are now credited in making the old martial art Capoeira to became a worldwide pop culture today.
According to Anime News Network, the hit arcade fighting game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC through Steam. The Xbox One release will include a copy of the previous installment "Tekken 6", while the PS4 version will have exclusive costumes for King, Xiao Yu and Jin Kazama. The PS4 version also features a Jukebox Mode that lets players made a playlist of "Tekken" music that they can listen to while playing.
The trailer shows that Eddy Gordo's moves will still include his dance-like killer moves with an addition of new tricky maneuvers as reported by Heavy. The preview also showcased some of the new stages that will be featured in the new game. "Tekken 7" is set to release on June 2 in Steam and July 5 in Japan.
