Ever since the two rappers fought over an Instagram post and things went fiery all of a sudden, everyone could not wait for Christ Brown and Soulja Boy boxing match. Unfortunately, the hype will be gone now since it was called off.
According to The Wrap, Soulja Boy claimed on his Twitter account Monday morning that the boxing match was called off because Chris Brown backed out. He wrote on his Twitter that Chris Brown's manager call his manager the previous night and said the fight is off and the "Grass is Greener" singer and rapper is not going to sign the contract.
The rapper known for his 2007 rap debut song "Crank That," asked everyone not to ask him about the cancelled boxing match, according to an article written by NME. He said that he is not going to talk against Brown on his decision since he cannot force him to sign the contract.
Even if he said that he would retract himself from calling Brown a coward for not signing the contract, he subtly hit him through retweeting a number of insults against Brown. Some of these tweets include comments like "Breezy chickened" and the "smartest decision Chris [Brown] made in five year."
So far, Brown has yet to address Soulja Boy's statements. Before Soulja Boy broke the news, reports have made that both are getting trained by veteran boxers Floyd Mayweather (for Soulja Boy) and Mike Tyson (for Brown) for the fight, according to Sports Illustrated.
The two started their beef back in January after Brown was upset for Soulja Boy liking an Instagram photo of Brown's ex, Karrueche Tran. Soulja Boy responded that he would beat him out.
One month after, Soulja Boy announced that a boxing match between him and Brown would happen to settle down the beef. He added that it would take place in March.
