"Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update added over 80 fresh Pokemon to the game. Here is what we know so far on which Pokemon is rare, legendary or regional.
With the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update released trainers are catching new Pokemon all over the world. However, when they see the profiles in their Pokedex, they want to know which are the rarest and thus should get their attention first. In addition, trainers are wondering which of the new Pokemon could be region locked, which are legendaries, and which are rarer.
"Pokemon Go" Gen 2 Regional Pokemon
Currently, no Gen 2 Pokemon has been confirmed as region exclusive, from the statistics gathered by the trainers on Reddit. Heracross, however, is still subject to debate. Several trainers speculated earlier that Heracross might be a region specific Pokemon, as it has only been confirmed so far in South America and South Florida. There are however unconfirmed reports lately that may indicate that this one is not region-specific either.
"Pokemon Go" Gen 2 Rare Pokemon
There are several Pokemon in Generation 2 that are rarer. Reddit's "Pokemon Go" India community revealed an image showing the rarity of different Generation 2 Pokemon. Higher CP Pokemon in "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 can also be considered to be rare. This includes Tyranitar, which is fundamentally the Dragonite equivalent. In addition, Blissey tends to be a top choice for trainers as rare. Ampharos with a rough equivalent to Lapras and Scizor equivalent to Lapras, are also favorite fighters, so they might be also more difficult to find in the wild, says Heavy.
Smeargle and Delbird have not been found in the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 at all yet. They can easily be listed as the rarest Pokemon from Generation 2. They may appear later like Ditto did. Moreover, Unown is also a rare Pokemon. One trainer in Milwaukee claims to have found Unown, but no one else has verified finding Unown too as of this writing.
"Pokemon Go" Gen 2 Legendary Pokemon
There are six legendary Pokemon in "Pokemon Go" Gen 2. The Legendary Pokemon from Generation 2 are Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Celebi. Expect not to find these Pokemon in the game yet. This is because the legendaries from Generation 1 still have not appeared yet in "Pokemon Go."
