Two years after their public breakup, Jennifer Garner is ready to file divorce from his husband of 10 years, Ben Affleck. The couple, however, will remain as co-parents to their three children.
The pair first announced their split up in June 2015.This is following the rumors about the "Batman" star having an affair with their children's 29-year-old former nanny, Christine Ouzonian. Affleck's camp, however, denied the rumor. In addition, Jennifer Garner also spoke up on Vanity Fair saying, "We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation."
The "Miracle From Heaven" actress described Affleck as a "complicated guy" saying "When his sun shines on you, you feel it. But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it's cold," the 44-year-old mother of three explained. "He can cast quite a shadow." , she added.
Nevertheless, Garner, a Texas-born, spoke highly of his 49-year old husband. "He's the love of my life...He's the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous." She also admitted she got "hurt" when rumors about Affleck and her children's Nanny surfaced the tabloids.
According to Us Magazine, the couple was in therapies for years before the breakup.Though they long planned for a divorce for quite some time, they tried to work out their marriage after their youngest 4-year-old son was born. But even the newly born baby couldn't patch their marriage that was on already on the brink of divorce.
After their split up, Affleck who has just moved out from their Brentwood home remains as a co-parent to their children. The actor-filmmaker "loves the idea of a family" and tries to hold onto it, sources say.
Garner and Affleck met on the set of "Pearl Harbor" in 2001 and got married four years after. They have three children named Violet, 11, Seraphine, 8 and Samuel, 4. The couple together with their kids have been reportedly traveling as a family. The two remain to be committed parents and will "always prioritize their children."
