After a cliff hanger finale back in 2009, "Prison Break" will be back this April for another season of another exhilarating prison escape. Fans are really disappointed back then on how the show ended and what happened to Michael Scofield after his alleged death. This time the hype is through the roof as the most anticipated series is having a Season 5 after seven long years.
According to Tripped Media, the idea of Season 5 came up in the most unexpected way. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell who played the brothers Michael and Lincoln in the series haven't seen each other since the finale of Season 4. They met each other again on the set of "The Flash" where they played Captain Cold and Heatwave.
They began to talk about each other and they can upon the idea of reviving the "Prison Break" series for another season. They decided to approach FOX and asked them to revive the series which they found no objection. This came as not too surprising because the series was one of the most watched shows on the network and Netflix.
In Season 5, Michael will be back alive and kicking but imprisoned on a Yemeni prison Ogyia as reported by Entertainment Weekly. He has a different identity and his name is changed to Kaniel Outis. He is jailed for killing a senior CIA official and being a terrorist having ties with the notorious group ISIL.
T-Bag will learn about what happened to Michael after his supposed to be execution and he will acquire his location. He will bring this information to Lincoln which of course will be questioning the authenticity of this info. After confirming the credibility of the tip, Lincoln together with the crew will devise a plan to get Michael out of prison like he did when it was the other way around.
This will be a Herculean task for the group as Yemen is currently under civil war and getting out of the prison will be the least of their problems. The newly released poster even hinted that the task will be like no other with a tag line saying "First, it was a prison. Now, it's a nation." "Prison Break" Season 5 will return on April 4 on FOX.
