‘Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans’ Episode 43 Review: McGillis’ Past Revealed!

"Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" just went with an epic chapter full of game-changing revelations. Titled "Revealed Intentions," Episode 43 brought us a series of shocking disclosure that will affect the future chapters. The episode will also feature a backstory for McGillis Fareed which explains a lot of his personality and ambitions.

According to Anime New Network, the latest episode clearly shows the reasons behind McGillis' actions and why he acts that way. It turns out that he is not born as an aristocrat but just another waif desperate to survive the cruel world. He is also an Iron-Blooded Orphan and it is possible that the title is associated with him.

After suffering the harsh life of the streets, he was adopted by a benefactor named Iznario Fareed. It turns out that this helper put him into more trauma as a young boy. Though not clarified, Iznario is portrayed as a pedophile that is into blondes. That being said, McGillis was a sex slave which explains his obsession to power.

Rustal even points out that he is a child who can't grow up as reported by Rabujoi. He learned the bitterness of life too early which made a trauma in him just like the members of the Tekkadan. He only learned that the powerful can do anything in the world which leads to his obsession to the point that he is willing to betray his friends just to obtain power.

Now, his goals are now within his grasps because of his new Bael Agnika Kaieru that holds the founder of Gjallarhorn's memories. Knowing that he is not born as an aristocrat it makes sense that he had the Alaya-Vijnana surgery.

On the other hand, the person behind Vidar's mask is now revealed. It turns out that the mysterious person is no other than Gaelio. In the new episode, he was shown harnessing Ein's brain in order to have equal footing with the Alaya-Vijnana fighters. Though unclear, we will just have to wait for more episodes to really explain what's the magic behind Alaya-Vijnana surgeries.
