‘Dragon Ball Super’ Episode 5 Recap: Goku Fights Beerus!

After weeks of waiting "Dragon Ball Super" have finally brought us an action-packed episode where our hero Goku faced off with the infamous God of Destruction Beerus. The latest episode showed everything that fans loved in the series, the old school martial art fight scenes, and epic transformations. Fans are hyped to see Goku back in action and face another great opponent who is said the strongest person in the universe.

Episode 5 started off with Beerus and his assistant Whis arriving at King Kai's planet asking about the premonition about a being called a Super Saiyan God. Being a Saiyan himself, Goku was asked if he knows anything about this Super Saiyan God, however both Goku and King Kai have only heard the term for the first time and knows nothing about it as reported by Den of Geeks.

Disappointed by the news, Whis and Beerus prepared to go to Earth and ask the Prince of Saiyans. However, Goku exceedingly curious of Beerus famed strength, respectfully asked if he can fight the God of Destruction to see for himself Beerus' strength. Amused by Goku's unusual request Beerus accepted Goku's challenge.

As the fight started, it became already clear that the strength of the two combatants are worlds apart. The fight was very one sided even for Goku transforming into Super Saiyan 3 and going all out. The fight goes on with Goku's every blow hitting just thin air and not landing a single finger to the God of Destruction.

The episode proved to be a combination of the original "Dragon Ball" and the "Z" series showing its lighter tones of "Dragon Ball" while showing the action-packed scenes of "Dragon Ball Z". It is nice to see that the series went to this exciting fight scenes after the series went into a passive state. According to Attack of the Fanboy, this episode was one of the most action-oriented so far and was an expanded version of the fight happened in the film "Battle of the Gods".
