Verizon Latest News: Resurects Unlimited Plans; Company Counters T-Mobile & AT&T

Verizon is resurrecting its Unlimited Plans. This is a move the company launched to win back its customers.

Verizon, in the wake of streaming video and GIF-filled messaging age, is finding ways to win back customers by providing unlimited data. On Sunday, the wireless carrier announced an introductory plan with unlimited data. Available starting February 13, the unlimited plan charges $80 per month for unlimited data, talk and text on a smartphone or tablet. In addition, Verizon will charge $45 per line of four lines.

This recent announcement from the wireless courier came after the 2017 State of Mobile Networks report from OpenSignal was published. The recent report states that Verizon can no longer call itself as the fastest wireless network. Furthermore, the report reveals that T-Mobile is now on par with Verizon. The two is tailed by AT&T and then by Sprint. In their recent press release, Verizon claimed to be the fastest 4G LTE network in the country.

In reality, Verizon's new plan is not entirely unlimited. Verizon, after several lawsuits with it and other carriers, notes the potential of controlling. When a plan owner exceeds 22 GB of data on a single line, Verizon will lessen the access to data. Mashable reported that in a recent press release, the company said that they do not expect to cap the plan very often. The company added, however, that network management is a crucial tool that benefits all Verizon customers.

It can be recalled that Verizon previously offered an unlimited plan, it, however, discontinued along with other wireless carriers. In recent months, however, it is noticeable that all other competing carriers have been reviving it back. AT&T, for instance, offers an unlimited data plan for cellphones, if customers also get DirecTV or AT&T's home TV service, U-verse.
