'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' Latest News & Update: Reworked Inferno Map Will Replace The Classic Dust 2 Map In The Active Duty

"Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" removed Dust2 out of rotation. The classic map will be replaced of the recently revamped Inferno.

In 2016, the Inferno map of "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" was refreshed and was given a fresh coat of paint before being reintroduced to players to try it out and give feedback. The classic Dust 2 map, although removed, will still be accessible and playable through casual and deathmatch modes. The "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" popular Dust 2 arena, however, with its current removal marks its retirement from the competitive esports arena. Dust 2 map has produced a lot of memorable moments when it was still in competitive rotation.

In a recent blog published for "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" by the Counter-Strike team, it announced making a change to the pool of map. In addition, it stated that the Inferno map has come back to Active Duty, replacing Dust II, and will be featured at the next "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" Major. As the usual "Counter-Strike" custom, the updated Active Duty pool is automatically chosen when a player enters Matchmaking. According to the blog, in Casual and Deathmatch game modes, it is now easier to play the favorite maps. At present, in "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" Map groups are clustered into additional categories such as Active Duty, Hostage, Reserves, and Dust II.

On the other hand, Mashable reported that the Inferno has received a notable makeover from Valve. Several of the most distinguished changes to Inferno include better lighting overall, and improved visibility on Bombsite A. In addition, a widened chokepoint at Banana or the path from terrorist spawn to Bombsite B can be observed. The latest Inferno map in "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" has no more darkroom in Apartments.

It can be noted that Inferno has received loads of criticism for its balance issues. These issues usually lead to big counter-terrorist leads during the first half of games. Furthermore, low lighting, narrow chokepoints, and varied visibility have kept Inferno out of the map pool at "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" professional tournaments.
