Episode 77 of "Dragon Ball Super" saw Zen-O-Sama, or the King of Everything, intent on holding an all-universe martial arts tournament consequent to Goku's insistence. Throughout the episode, Beerus appears worried about Goku's confrontation with Zen-O-Sama and thinks he is naive. Has Goku made a mistake in his encounter with the King of Everything?
Apart from Goku's tell of with Zen-O-Sama, the opening to Episode 77 also caught the attention of viewers as it had glimpses of fresh, new characters. Among them are Cabba, Frost, the girl in pink, and some unidentified characters. What's most intriguing about the opening of Episode 77 is the presentation of a new character who appears to be a protagonist. Speculations suggest that the character may be a new transformation of Goku. It is also noteworthy that Hit did not appear in the opening sequence of the episode.
Despite the God of Destruction's recommendation to not get involved with Zen-O-Sama, Goku did not heed his mentor's advice and went on to confront the King of Everything. Beerus tried to explain how Zen-O-Sama may be innocent and noble, but his innocence is threatening. Beerus is obviously alarmed by Goku's decision to meet the King of Everything. Does he know something Goku does not?
The next episode of Dragon Ball Super is titled "Gods of Each Universe are Aghast?! You'll be Obliterated If You Lose at The Tournament of Power" Many are speculating that this may be the reason why Beerus was so anxious about Goku's decision to confront Zen-O-Sama and insist the idea of a Tournament of Power; it seems as though the consequence of losing the tournament will result in the destruction of the losers' universe!
Meanwhile, IGN gives Episode 77 a review score of 7.0 as it gave the viewers a fun tease building up towards the All-Universe Tournament. However, the episode suffers from the weight of setting up for the future storyline.
