After almost two decades of portraying the antihero turned superhero Wolverine, Hugh Jackman is putting on the last show with the upcoming film "Logan". During the Super Bowl, a brand-new trailer was dropped that gave a new meaning to the song 'Amazing Grace'. The haunting version of the song gave a bitter-sweet tone to the trailer making fans more hyped than ever.
The film will follow the story of Logan, living the rest of his days as a driver while caring for the old and sick Professor X. According to Variety, Wolverine this time around is now weak and vulnerable compared to the old Wolverine who is unbeatable, unbreakable and with full of regenerative powers. Both he and Professor X lived in the Mexican border hiding from the world where mutants are still seen as a danger for mankind.
Their discreet life of hiding ended when they met Logan's cloned daughter Laura Kinney or X-23 who's played by Dafne Keen. It turned out the X-23 was being hunted by some evil organizations to use her for their heinous plans as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. With Wolverine seeing his old self in the girl, he decided to help her the best he could from living the same life he experienced.
The action-packed 30-second trailer by 20th Century Fox titled "Grace" exhibits X-23's killer moves and ferocious fighting skills even with her small stature. The sneak-peek also showed the cyborg villain Donald Pierce played by Boyd Holbrook coming after the heroes and giving them a hard time. The dialogue-less trailer was painted by an epic rendition of "Amazing Grace" mired an outstanding contrast between the action scenes and the subtle melody of the song.
After the standalone film "The Wolverine" in 2015, director James Mangold will be returning to helm the film where Jackman will play as the iconic clawed mutant for the ninth and final time. "Logan" will also star Eriq La Salle, Stephen Merchant, Elise Neal, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Richard E. Grant that will play as the mad scientist Zander Rice. The film is slated to hit the theaters on March 3, 2017.
