'The Odd Couple' Season 4 Update: Matthew Perry And Thomas Lennon Show May Face Renewal Despite Lackluster Ratings

"The Odd Couple" Season 3 starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon just ended with 13 episodes. The back-to-back episodes garnered a rating of 1.1% for the 18-49 demographic.

CBS has the highest rated comedy in the form of "The Big Bang Theory" but Deadline reports that this season, "The Odd Couple" has become the lowest rated comedy. But one thing that the series has, though, are loyal fans and viewers. Their rating has been consistent throughout the 13 episode run of season 3. The question now is whether CBS will renew the sitcom despite the ratings.

Comic Book reports that Glenn Gellar, CBS Entertainment president, says that the show could definitely come back for season 4. Despite being the worst rated comedy, its consistency is bringing in viewers is a key. Add to the fact, if compared to the ratings of shows in other networks, the sitcom is can actually be rated a mid-level success.

"The Odd Couple" is about Felix and Oscar who became roommates after the failure of their relationship. They are polar opposites, with the former being neurotic and the latter being easygoing. The season finale episode dealt with the two deciding to look for new roommates after their huge fight.

Oscar moved in with Charlotte while Felix found a new roommate named Neil who has the same personality as him. While things were good at first, soon their decision started to backfire on them. Oscar accidentally set Charlotte's kitchen on fire while Neil, acting superior, becomes too overbearing for Felix. The episode ends with the two deciding to become roommates again but in a different apartment.

The season ender might seem like the perfect way to the end the series, as there are no cliffhangers that the audience would be wondering about. Only time till tell if what CBS president Gellar said will actually be true. Do you think that "The Odd Couple" could still be renewed for season 4? Share your thoughts and comments below.
