The latest episodes of "Eastenders" have become a hot topic as soon it aired. Many viewers actually complained that the bus crash scene seemed insensitive in light of the terrorist attacks in Europe, particularly the attack on Berlin last December 19, which left 12 people dead and more injured.
Mirror reports that Ofcom actually received 29 complaints about the disaster in Albert Square. But there were also some who defended the show, saying it was vastly different from what happened in Berlin. In the show, the bus driver actually suffered a heart attack, as opposed to the Berlin attack, which was deliberate and known as a terrorist attack.
In the bus crash episode of "Eastenders," 11 people's lives are at risk, namely Honey Mitchell, Johnny Carter, Kush Kazemi, Donna Hubbard, Martin Fowler, Carmel Kazemi, Denise Fox, Keegan, Bex Fowler, Louise Mitchell, and Shakhil Kazemi. There are no confirmed reports on who among the 11 will die and who will survive the deadly car crash.
But Huffington Post reports that some of the Mitchells are safe, as shown in the storyline for episodes starting January 30. It seems that Ben and Jay Brown are looking for a place to live together, although Ben might change his mind when he is told by Sharon that Phil likes having him around.
Other reports indicate that Tina Carter will let Sylvie sing during the quiz night at Queen Vic even though Mick did not allow it. In the January 31 episode of "Eastenders", it seems that Sharon will get mad at Phil for reaching out to Antoinette, who came to visit.
What did you think of the episode with the bus crash? Should Ofcom take action against the show, or do you think that it cannot be compared to the Berlin attack? Share your thoughts and comments below.
