The series finale of "Girl Meets World" just aired and it brought together most of the cast not only of the show, but also its predecessor "Boy Meets World." Last week, audiences were left astounded when they found out that Topanga was offered a job in London, and it looked like she was going to force her family to relocate.
As reported by E! News, most of the cast of the original show showed up to give their advice to Topanga and help her make the best decision for her family. Mr. Feeney (William Daniels) and Eric (Will Friedle) make an appearance, and it seems that they still have not made up. Both Morgans also arrive, and a sweet moment between Shawn (Rider Strong) and Mr. Turner (Anthony Tyler Quinn) happens.
When Shawn tells Mr. Turner that he would be legally adopting Maya, the latter expressed his regret that he was never able to legally adopt Shawn before he disappeared. But even Maya's being adopted does not diminish the fact that if Riley and her family move to London, their friendship might not survive, especially after remembering that they actually had a third best friend, who moved away, and they never got to be friends with her again.
Riley is comforted by her friends, but Maya is still in denial. Then Cory, Riley, along with Maya and Auggie to Topanga's to know the final decision. They tell her that they will support her no matter what she has decided.
After thinking it over and getting several advice, including Eric who told her that she should just find a quiet place and listen to her heart, Topanga announces that London can wait. She realizes that her bay window can be found right in New York, right at Topanga's, and she's not leaving it.
While the episode, titled "Girl Meets Goodbye," is reportedly the series finale since Disney Channel will not be renewing, Deadline reports that co-creator Michael Jacobs still hopes that they can continue the story of Riley and her friends journey in high school. He is apparently attempting to find a new home for the series.
