Willi Weber, the former manager of Formula One Legend Michael Schumacher, has blasted the racer's family for not telling the truth about his condition. But he is still hoping for the best, with regards to Schumacher.
According to Corey Charlton of The Sun, Weber said in an interview with German magazine Bunte that Schumacher's family hasn't exactly been truthful about the formula one legend's status. He adds that fans deserve to know what's his latest condition is.
"It's time to pour pure wine for his millions of fans," Weber said. "But I'm biting on granite because for a long time my advice is no longer heard."
Schumacher crashed and hit his head on a rock on December 29, 2013, while he was skiing with his son in the French Alps. Despite wearing a helmet, the racer was placed in a medically-induced coma to treat his head injuries.
Charlton said h awoke from the coma after six months and no one has had any updates about Schumacher's condition. It was reported that he was receiving a ₤115,000 ($144,083) a week treatment in his estate in Geneva, Switzerland.
Charlton adds that a team of 15 physicians and nurses are caring for the formula one legend. There was also a report last month about a smuggled picture of Schumacher while he is recovering at home.
The photographs, though, are not free as it was being offered for nearly ₤1 million ($1.25 million) to European media outlets. German prosecutors are investigating the incident already, saying it violates Schumacher's "personal range of life."
Weber, who managed Schumacher's career when he won titles with Ferrari and Benetton, had spoken about the lack of disclosure. The Mirror adds that Weber is also not losing hope that his friend can recover.
"When I'm home alone and the phone rings I often feel that it will be Michael saying 'Willi, how's it going?'" he said. "Hope dies last." Check out the top 5 moments of Schumacher's career in the video below.
