Paul George Says Maybe NBA Has Teams They Like, Not Happy With The Lack Of Calls The Pacers Get

Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George has not been happy with the team's recent game against the Chicago Bulls for not getting enough foul calls. He even said that maybe the NBA "has teams they like so they can give them the benefit of the doubt."

According to ESPN, George said that he played 39 minutes in the 90-85 loss to the Bulls, but was only able to go to the free throw line once. The star forward finished the game with 14 points.

"They know what's a foul. They know what's not a foul," George said. "It comes down from somewhere else how these games are going, I believe."

George was not the only who was critical of the referees, Pacers coach Nate McMillan also aired his frustrations about the lack of foul calls. He said that the team only shot 10 free throws the entire game. The Bulls, on the other hand, shot 28 free throws, making 20 of them.

McMillan said that their game against the Bulls is the second game that George was being grabbed and held without getting foul calls. "[Opponents] are getting away with a lot of grabbing on Paul. [The referees] got to call the game both ways," he adds.

This isn't the first time that George had complained about the referees, nor has he been fined for complaining, according to Sporting News. During the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat, George was fined $25,000 for his "home cooking" comments.

In 2015 he was $10,000 for saying "there were a lot of bad calls" and another $35,000 for cursing the ref on live TV. George believes that the lack of calls is due to them being the "little brothers" of the NBA.

He said the league maybe likes a few teams, which gives them "the benefit of the doubt." As for his Pacers team, "we're definitely the little brother of the league." Check out the video below for the top 10 plays from all of the games on Monday, including the Pacers-Bulls match.

In other NBA news, The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors rivalry are heating up. Cavaliers coach Tyrone Lue even said that their rivalry could be on par with the rivalry of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics of the 80s.
