It looks like Kratos has named his son Atreus, which is a familiar name for those who are into Greek Mythology. "God of War 4" won't also be Kratos' final game.
Game Director Cory Barlog has confirmed on Twitter that the name Kratos gave to his sone was Atreus. He acknowledged Twitter user Fabiano Banin, who discovered the name in the mp3 metadata.
The mp3 metadata showed in the comments box the phrase "An introduction to Kratos and Atreus. The metadata was for the dramatic overture that played live at the game's reveal at the E3.
Connor Sheridan of GamesRadar said that the name Atreus is part of Greek Mythology. He was the son of Pelops, who was a grandson of Zeus. Atreus murdered one of his brothers due to a power play and was banished. During his exile, he wandered around until he eventually became king of Mycenae.
Sheridan adds that it's not yet clear if Kratos' son will be playing the Atreus in Greek Mythology or if he just liked the name for his son. He said it's probably the latter as the "God of War" series is known to be loose when it comes to Greek Mythology names and interpretations.
IGN said that Barlog also confirmed that "God of War 4" won't be Kratos' final game in the series. He also said that PlayStation 4 exclusive game will only be a single-player experience. The latest game has yet to come out with a release date, but it's expected to be released this year.
In other news, the latest instalment of the game is already capable of full play through, which is an exciting achievement for the developers. This means that the game is already finished in the alpha state, showing that core mechanics are already in place functional level interactions are completed.
