The Christmas episode of "The Royals" did not start out great once the rest of the royal family found out that Liam sent all the staff home and they are left to fend for themselves. Liam wanted to continue the tradition that his father began of the staff having the day off during Christmas, but he didn't realized just how well-planned such decisions are, and his family did not let him off the hook.
Despite his good intentions, Liam was scolded but his mother Helena, who tried cooking the turkey despite being clueless in the kitchen. She eventually got help from Spencer, both in the kitchen and in the bedroom.
Elsewhere, Eleanor is dismayed to find out that Liam was in a relationship with bartender, Kathryn, who was also their brother, Robbie's, ex-girlfriend. Liam was quick to point out that they put a stop to their relationship as soon as Robert came back from the island.
Eleanor was in for a more heartbreaking surprise in "The Royals" season 5 when her boyfriend, Jasper, broke up with her. It was a surprise, as earlier in the episode Jasper was even consulting Sarah Alice on what to get for Eleanor. But when Jasper was called by the shady Harper, a reporter who threatened him with his past and his relationship with Eleanor, he knew that there was nothing else to do but end it with the princess.
EW reports that Liam and Robert almost came head to head at the dinner table after Robert kept insulting him with his nickname "Sparrow", and further ridiculing Liam in front of family. The fight was delayed when Sarah Alice brought presents, which turned out to be from Simon, and that brought the family together.
In a last attempt to get Kathryn back, Liam pleads with her to have a future with him, but E! reports that she turned him down because of Robert. Liam then challenged his brother to a boxing match, which will be seen in the next episode of "The Royals."
