Five Locations From 'Assassin's Creed' Videogames That Are Still Standing

Despite the low critical reviews for the videogame franchise's Hollywood spin, "Assassin's Creed" has managed to capture the hearts of its audiences from both gamers to mainstream audiences. Travelers are more intrigued about the in-game locations featured in both the game and the movie. As the story is based on an alternate history of the world, these five still exist today.

According to Buzzfeed, traveler Damien Hypolite has taken photographs with still images he printed out from the Assassin's creed in-game locations. One of the game's episodes included "Assassin's Creed: Unity" that featured the famous Paris Notre-Dame Cathedral. As with all the franchise's games, one can scale the Notre-Dame Cathedral outdoors; as a real life-traveler, one can visit the indoors of this still-standing monument in Paris.

Most of Hypolite's expeditions featured other "Unity"-featured locations such as the buildings around the Bastille monument or Place de la Bastille. The Bastille monument commemorates what happened during the July Revolution -- an event that heavily involved the game character of "Unity."

"Unity" was set in France, but "Assassin's Creed 3" featured American colonization period sites and locales. According to NBC News, the setting is "the best view of the Revolutionary War-era America." NBC 's in-game screenshots of "Assassin's Creed 3" featured the old Boston Common full of pastures instead of the downtown central park in Massachusetts.

NBC noted that Boston's Old North Church also existed in "Assassin's Creed 3." The NBC said the North Church was where the Charleston forces received warning that British army forces were advancing; making it the epicenter of the entire Revolutionary War. Other locales included the Faneuil Hall, depicted in full detail in-game as it holds some of the sparks that led to the American Revolutionary War.

Bonus: "Assassin's Creed 2" holds almost the entire accuracy of the Duomo in Florence, Piazza San Marco in Venice, San Gimigiano's towers and more. The actual size of the virtual replicas is scalable by the main character and is probably a testimony to the dedication of the environment development team for the game series.
