'Gears of War 4' Series 2 Brings New Characters, New Maps And New Weapon Skins, Biggest Ever Update

"Gears of War 4" has just come out with its Series 2 update, where players can collect 13 new characters, including the game's first Legacy Characters in Gears 4. Furthermore, the update, which is the game's biggest ever, also offers two new maps and over 260 new Weapon Skins.

According to the game's forum post, players will again get to enjoy Armored Sam and Armored Anya in their Gears 3 armor, as well as a new legacy character that will return as a "Scrap-only Card" soon. The post also said that Zombie Minh makes a comeback, but this time there's a hole in his chest that's the size of Raam's blade.

The Coalition, the game's developer, will also be bringing back two fan-favorite maps in "Gears of War 4," Blood Drive and Clocktower. The Blood Drive Gears 4 map provides players a combination of the best of Gears 2's version and Gears 3's re-imagined version, while Gears 4 re-imagined Clocktower map provides players a nostalgic feeling of the battles they used to have with within the Gears architecture of the map.

The new maps are now playable to season pass holders of the game through the Developer Playlist, together with 20 percent credit boost and double XP. For everybody else, the new map will be available on January 17, when it enters the public multiplayer map rotation.

Aside from new characters and new maps, the Series 2 update also offers more than 260 new Weapon Skins for players to collect. Some of these new skins include the Chillin weapon set and the Lightning Skin to name a few.

Game Spot considers this update of The Coalition as the biggest ever in terms of the total number of new cards. "Gears of War 4" Series 2 has 280 new cards for players to collect.
