Bonnie Ross Confirms Previous Development Of Lego-Like ‘Halo’ Game, But It Didn’t Get Past Prototype Stage

The corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios and the Head of "Halo" Bonnie Ross has just confirmed "Haggar," a Lego-like "Halo" video game that they were trying to develop with toy brand Mega Bloks. Unfortunately, the video game never got past the prototype phase.

In a post on "Halo's" forum, Ross has confirmed the footage of the supposed video game project for the Xbox 360 that they were working on. She said the game "focused on the elements of action, exploration and user creativity found within the Halo universe."

Ross adds that the footage has received "a lot of great feedback from the community" and they enjoyed coming up with the inventions and ideas behind it. She said, though, the project was only able to reach the early prototyping stage and wasn't able to progress beyond that.

"This is just one example of several similar projects we have evaluated throughout the years," Ross said. "a process that we continue exploring on an ongoing basis."

Eddie Makuch of Game Spot reports that Ross has been receiving requests to make a "Halo" game that would appeal to younger audiences. So it's possible that a "Halo" Mega Bloks game could come out in the future.

Makuch adds that Ross had also talked about wanting to use new ideas to grow the franchise without losing the "core spirit" of "Halo." Microsoft and Mega Bloks are already working on a project together, which are physical toys of the game.

You can check out the footage of "Haggar" in the video below. Makuch said the video was courtesy of Preserving Game History's Andrew Borman.

In other news, Microsoft has decided to cancel the production of action role-playing video game "Scalebound." The company said they are instead working hard to deliver a new and "amazing lineup of games" this year, which would include "Halo Wars 2."
