Tommy Hilfiger Talks On His Best And Worst Travels

Thomas Jacob Hilfiger known in the fashion industry as Tommy Hilfiger is the man behind the famous brand which is also his name. His clothing industry started in 1985 and now boasts of stores all over the world. He has 5 children with his wife Dee Ocleppo and lives in Connecticut.

The world-famous entrepreneur shares with Express his best and worst travels and his travel plans for the year 2017. Hilfiger shared that his most memorable holiday happened in the 1970s when he went to India.

According to him, he was traumatized by the smells and beggars that surround him upon his arrival in Mumbai. However, he said he learned to love the place. His worst holiday was his charity trip going to Uganda where his hotel room was dark and dirty. He said that he slept with his clothes and socks on. He vows never to go back to Uganda again.

In all his travels, there was one that he considers as his favorite souvenir shop. Eredi Chiarini, a store that caters menswear located in Florence. He goes there often to buy his own stuff.

Tommy Hilfiger also shared the best meal he has tasted during his travels. The lobster at Il Riccio on Capri and the linguine with white clam sauce on the same restaurant have passed his distinctive taste. He also recommends a low-ceiling spot in New York called The Waverly Inn where eats every time he visits the place.

He loves to watch people and he does it with gusto in Saint-Tropez's harbor cafés. He loves to watch the yachts and the people that pass by. He finds sailing tiring.

For vacation spots that he wants to visit again, he wants to go skiing in Courchevel in the French Alps. His immediate vacation plans are visiting the Caribbean, where one of his houses is located. Tommy Hilfiger loves the place because it is like primitive and conducive to playing volleyball and jogging.
