Travelers not in the mood for just a single location or hotel should keep them find cruise ships more appealing stays than hotels. In 2017, new cruise ships featuring new technologies are abound to make traveling in the seas entertaining, exciting and personalized with new adapting concierge technologies, beer-included dining packages, two-bedroom suites and more.
Cruise company Carnival wants to make passengers feel more comfortable and feel the power of technology with just a few taps. According to According to Fox News , the company intends to use "personalized concierge" technologies that allow ship crew members to "anticipate and respond to passengers needs" through the use of sensors and wearable trackers. Carnival also said it would use the new technologies on the maiden voyage of its Regal Princess cruise ship in November.
Cruise Industry publication Cruise Week Editor-in-Chief MIke Driscoll said the technologies could help cruise ships -- which are becoming enormous to accommodate its number of passengers -- to become more personal and "attract tech-savvy millenials." According to Carnival CEO Arnold Donald the experiment could be a hit or miss but "In the end, the guests will tell us."
Other new vessels have fascinating activities while inside the cruise ship. Lindbland Expeditions' National Geographic Quest -- debuting in 2018 -- will carry about 100 passengers and will bring with it outdoor expedition gear including kayaks, paddleboards and other equipment for voyages and exploration of select areas.
Silversea Cruises' Silver Muse is another ship that features amazing accommodations focused on luxury with upscale eateries. Guests could choose to go for one of the four Grand Suites or one of the two Royal Suites. The Silver Suite is a new two-bedroom option. Those who wish to make their own food could cook their own in hot lava stones in the venue "Hot Rocks."
According to USA today, not all of the new vessels they have listed will arrive in 2017 but many of them are promising even if they have yet to arrive in North America. Most cruise liners are expected to have faster internet and personalized data packages.
