The Best Countries To Travel With Kids: Denmark’s ‘Theme Park’ Tours, India’s Wildlife Parks And More

Travelers traveling with kids less than 10 years old limits your choices to either Disneyland, a country with a great amusement park, or one that has great outdoor, water or ski sports. Travelers planning a Euro trip with their youngsters may not have known that their children can be key to a great experience in Thailand -- where locals love children -- or wildlife adventures in India or in the Carribean.

According to Lonely Planet, Denmark's Tivoli is a "fairy tale of a central amusement park" that dates to 1843. This means Denmark's history has always loved children. Lonely Planet said it features fireworks, great food, amazing music and the world-famous "Legoland." Even adult travelers would want to see a truly amazing amusement park.

Lonely Planet also lists Belize in the Carribean as one great potential "boon for families," namely those going on trips with young ones. The affordable Carribean trip features historic and natural sites that feature monkeys and crocodiles to Mayan ruins and jungle lodges.

According to Britain's Rough Guide's list of 30 best places to travel with kids, India is the top of the list. In Kerala are national parks, elephant spotting and bamboo rafting for kids old enough to ride the waters. Houseboats are also an adventurous way to spend the night during travel.

Rough Guide also lists England's West Midlands Safari Park and Birmingham's Sea Life Center as kid-friendly travel sites -- both areas interesting for its historic and wildlife content. Back in South America, Costa Rica's natural rainforests are great for outdoor activities including hiking, camping and horse riding but it may not be suitable for little ones younger than seven.

In America is Utah's Arches National Park featuring large sandstones of natural formation. If travelers and children are not up for natural rock formations and sunsets, then Alabama's US Space and Rocket Center should intrigue families' curiosities about space and the world beyond the Earth.
