Unfortunately, Carrie Fisher passed away but her role as Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" series will not be forgotten especially in "Star Wars: Episode VIII."
Despite the tragic loss of one of the actors of the "Star Wars" series the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VIII" has managed to top most of the anticipated movies of 2017. Though, this is expected by most of the "Star Wars" fanatic worldwide. There are plenty of movies for this coming 2017, and most of them are expected to be a big hit.
According to Yahoo! Movies, "Star Wars: Episode VIII" appears to be the movie event of 2017. The upcoming episode might also end up like the "Rogue one: A Star Wars Story," which was the movie event of 2016. On the other hand, the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is at top 2 of the biggest hits of 2017. This result has made director James Gunn very pleased, and he even stated that if they are going to land on the 2nd place he is glad it's "Star Wars" who surpassed them.
"Beauty and the Beast" has landed on the third place of the poll despite most of the poll surrounded by superhero movies. "Wonder Woman" lands in 4th place, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" got fifth, and "Justice League" at 6th place. "The Fate of the Furious" earns the 7th place, and it was followed by "Fifty Shades Darker" on the 8th. "Logan" lands at the 9th place, and "Despicable Me 3" at the 10th place.
According to CBS News, the survey was conducted during the week of December 19, 2016. It also conducted a survey for the voter's choice for the most anticipated actors, actresses and films of specific genre. The number of surveyed moviegoers is more than 2,000 during the said week of the survey conducted. "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will be initially released on December 15, 2017.
