'Yuri On Ice' Creator Wants A Season 2 And Will Work Hard For It

If "Yuri on Ice" creator Mitsurou Kubo would have her way, the hit anime series would have a second season. There are many directions that the sequel could take and one suggestion is to focus on Yuri's mental health.

Kubo said during an interview about the anime series that was posted in a Tumblr account three weeks ago, that she will be pouring all her "energy into 'Yuri on Ice.'" She adds that she has "a lot of plans in the works with the director for next year."

Her plans include a wish to create a sequel to the hit anime series, which just ended last December 21, 2016. "So I'm doing my best and working hard for that reason!!," she said.

The ending of "Yuri on Ice" Episode 12 hinted at the possibility of a second season with its "See You Next Level Message." Fans who got to see the message were all over it.

According to MobiPicker's Abdul Haddi, "Yuri on Ice" has instantly gained popularity due to its unique and beautiful storyline. They also said that, though no announcement has been made regarding season 2, the anime's producer MAPPA won't be disappointing its fans, who are looking forward to the second season.

One direction that the hit anime series could go to is to focus on Yuri's mental health problems. Haddi said that the first season already showed hints that Yuri is suffering from mental health issues, like going through an emotional breakdown and losing confidence from time to time.

So he hopes that Kubo and the studio focus on addressing that issue and letting the fans know about Yuri's mental health condition. Haddi speculates that the new season will likely arrive in 2017. Check out the funny moments of "Yuri on Ice" in the video below.
