Tupac, Pearl Jam, Joan Baez Make It To The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

With the recently concluded announcement of inductees, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame makes it reminiscent for the avid fans of Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam and Joan Baez. The three artists earned the spot in the Performer Category amongst similarly great contenders. All these awardees have begun their music careers more than 25 years ago.

Established in 1983, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is an organization that acknowledges the influence of artists who uphold the rock and roll music. It has been a practice for the nominating committee to assemble every year and cast their votes. For this year's selection for the Performer category, it was made by more than 900 voters of the foundation and online fan voters. In the SiriusXM's VOLUME show, Hall of Fame CEO Joel Peresman said, that there are usually 5 or 6 winners but the votes were very close for this 2017 class.

It will be noted that Tupac Shakur is the sixth artist in the hip-hop genre to receive this honor. Even though he has been dead for a decade, his famous hits "Changes," "All Eyez On Me," and "Life Goes On" still remind the industry of his musical talent. No one knows yet who will receive the award on his behalf.

Pearl Jam, an alternative rock band that started in the 90s who has graced the industry with 968 shows, 12 studio albums, 5 live albums and more than 40 hit songs. The have given moshers good music experience. In a list published by Rollingstone in 2013, it has listed the 15 impressive songs by Pearl Jam that only the die-hard fans know.

Joan Baez, a winner from her first time nomination, is a singer notable for her contribution in the contemporary folk music genre. She is known for her renowned songs " House of the Rising Sun" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".

Alongside these 3 artists, the other Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Inductees include YES, Journey and Electric Light Orchestra. The Award for Musical Excellence is given to guitarist Nile Rodgers. The 32nd Annual Induction Ceremony will take place on the 7th of April next year in Brooklyn. Ticket sales and details will be announced in January. Stay tuned!
