'Battlefield 1' News: First DLC 'They Shall Not Pass' Previewed By EA DICE

The first expansion for Battlefield 1 is coming out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in March next year. The expansion titled They Shall Not Pass is being previewed by Electronic Arts. EA has provided concept art that show glimpses of the upcoming update. The DLC They Shall Not Pass will include the French Army.

They Shall Not Pass will be the first ever Battlefield 1 expansion. Players will soon be able to try new armies and weapons in Electronic Arts' World War I shooter. The update will have all-new maps, weapons, and the French Army as a playable faction. The new Battlefield 1 update will arrive in 2017 but EA has already provided a preview of some of the content.

According to gaming website GameSpot, the concept art that EA shared were concept exploration images of new multiplayer maps from the upcoming They Shall Not Pass update. They represent the vision of the developer of Battlefield 1, DICE, for the new maps but have not been finalized.

The new They Shall Not Pass update is set during the Battle of Verdun in France. This is the battle in which German and French forces fought for 10 months in 1916 in northeastern France. The Daily Express tabloid reports that EA previously teased the addition of the French Army by posting an image on Twitter with the caption "Soyez prêts", wich means "Be Ready" in English. As fans start preparing for the arrival of the French Army, they will still have to wait since the DLC expansion will not arrive until March 2017.

With the first expansion of Battlefield 1, They Shall Not Pass, the developer DICE is expanding the scope of the Great War by adding the French Army which was shown in the concept art released by DICE. According to gaming website Polygon, currently playable in the World War I game are the armed forces of Austria-Hungary, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Ottoman Empire, and the U.S. The Russian Army will be playable in a future expansion for Battlefield 1.
