'Death Stranding', The Next 'Metal Gear': Shinji Hirano, Former Konami President, Takes Over Kojima Productions

A former prominent figure in Konami has been recently assigned as the president of the Kojima Productions, which was supposedly led by the man behind the cult classic series "Metal Gear," Hideo Kojima. With another former Konami bigwig on the team, expectations for the upcoming title "Death Stranding" will increase.

As reported by PCGamesN, former Konami President, Shinji Hirano was just recently assigned to be the president of the Kojima Productions. It may come as a surprise to a lot of fans given that there was some bad blood between Konami and Hideo Kojima before they separated ways.

In a post from TheKoalition indicates that Shinji Hirano was still employed with Konami and served as a corporate officer until March 2016. There were no prior announcements after Hirano went under the radar within a couple of months. It turns out that he got the position back in November of 2016.

Shinji Hirano was also the former president for Konami Europe for almost a decade and got transferred to Konami's sales division in 2011. Now his responsibilities with Kojima Productions is to manage the leadership and make the company successful as one of the greatest creative studios in the world, as described on his LinkedIn page.

There are also a number of former Konami employees that made the jump to Kojima's newly established studio. Some of them were responsible for a number of "Metal Gear" games that was previously produced over the years.

With an increasing team of Konami veterans and talented individuals who have worked for the "Metal Gear" series, fans are highly expecting "Death Stranding" to be another hit as with all of Kojima's work ever since 1987 with his first "Metal Gear" game on the MSX Platform.

However, despite making two major appearances in two major events E3 and PlayStation Experience, "Death Stranding" still leaves a lot to the imagination as the game barely shows any element of the gameplay. Even Mads Mikkelsen, who is closely working with the studio as one of the antagonists, have no idea what the game will be about
