Super Nintendo World Opens in Universal Studios Japan by 2020

Nintendo characters will come alive by 2020 in Universal Studios Japan. According to its press release, Super Nintendo World will be comprised of expansive and multilevel environments filled with unprecedented, state-of-the-art ride, interactive areas, shops and restaurants, all featuring Nintendo's most popular characters and games.

Universal Studios Japan is expected to oversee 50 billion Yen worth of investment and will open Super Nintendo World in the park's current parking area and reserve spot for future expansion.

Katsuhiro Miyamoto, Professor Emeritus of Kansai University assessed that the opening of the park will bring economic gains of approximately 6.2 trillion Yen for the Kansai region and 11.7 trillion Yen in Japan generally. The park is also seen to create an approximately 1.1 million jobs in Japan within a decade after opening.

The press release added: "Nintendo characters and the worlds they inhabit will be re-created at the highest level of quality through the strong partnership between Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto, Creative Fellow at Nintendo, and Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative, renowned for creative and technical excellence."

Super Nintendo World will allow guests to fully immerse themselves and all five senses in the worlds of Nintendo, and is expected to attract guests from Japan and the world over.

The place will feature characters and themes from the "Super Mario" series, which has continued over the years to win the hearts of devoted fans around the world. The attraction area will also feature a variety of other globally popular Nintendo characters.

Nintendo also plans to bring Mario and the gang to Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood. In a press video, on Nov. 29, Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, said that attractions Universal Studios Japan will also be expanding to the U.S.

We will be seeing lots of Donkey Kong and Link from Legend of Zelda. Super Nintendo World will open in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
