John Cena Leaving WWE? Rumors Say The Star Will Stop Wrestling So Here Are 5 Superstars Who Can Replace Him

For more than 10 years, John Cena has been the top guy in the WWE. His merchandise sales, the massive following, and charisma have made him a fixture in the wrestling corporation's main event scene. But, recent reports have suggested that his future with the company is currently in limbo.

A report from the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer indicates that company officials are worried about how much the Cena is going to be around by next year. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion future with the company is still uncertain next year because of all the outside project offers he continues to receive.

Cena is already starting to make a name for himself outside the WWE bubble. Some of his projects are an upcoming comedy alongside Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz in the "The Pact," he was the host of last week's episode of Saturday Night Live, and he is currently on a sabbatical from wrestling as he is busy filming the second season of his reality show "American Grit."

Cena might already be gradually drifting away from the WWE as he attempts to make a career in Hollywood. If this is the case, then Vince McMahon may want to start looking for a potential replacement as the face of the company. Here are five Superstars who have the potential to become Cena's replacements.

Finn Balor, a former NXT champion, is the first ever WWE Universal champion who had to relinquish his title after suffering an injury. Most casual fans might not be familiar with Balor since he is well-known from his time in NXT. But, he has the in-ring skills and the charisma to win casual fans over. He has one of the unique gimmicks in professional wrestling, and his ability to come up with high-quality matches against any opponent could land him the role of top babyface once he returns.

Even though AJ Styles is currently Smackdown Live's top heel, he is still beloved by fans and can win over the others should he become a babyface again, and is the current WWE World Heavyweight champion While his latest storyline sees him trying to replace Cena as the face of the company, it is not so far fetch to happen in reality. AJ Styles is an 18-year veteran who has been wrestling and winning championship titles all over the world. He is one of the oldest active wrestlers in the company at 40-years old, but he is not showing any signs of slowing down.

Next is Roman Reigns who is the current United States champion for the Raw brand. Whether fans like him or not, it is pretty clear that the WWE is grooming him to become the top guy in the company. Just like Cena, Reigns has been the target of split fan reactions and often gets unfairly criticized due to how he's being booked. There may have other talents who can perform better in the ring and on the mic than Reigns, but the WWE is hell bent on making him the top face moving forward.

Seth Rollins is another performer who has the looks, the mic skills, and the ring acumen to become the top face of the entire company. He is currently one of Raw's top babyfaces and rumors have been circulating about his feud with Triple H could run all the way to Wrestlemania 33. The guy is still young, can put up great matches and is generally well-liked by the WWE Universe.

Last but not the least is The Miz. While most fans would prefer to forget about his main event run in 2011, there is no denying that the man has been one of the best heels over the last year and a half. He is currently the Intercontinental Champion on Smackdown Live and is one of the best talkers in the company. Even former WWE superstar Cody Rhodes praised The Miz and labeling him one of the hardest working guys on the roster. His natural charisma makes him a great choice for someone who can represent the company publicly.
