Since its reveal in October, the giant game console leaked another info that Nintendo Switch can be charged by using USB-C. However, that news was suddenly put down by EB Games Austraila, but not without a screenshot by Techno Buffalo.
If the information is true, Nintendo's move of the Switch will prove to be beneficial to the users. In the past, the gaming company opted for proprietary chargers, but now, chooses the USB-C to get power to the product line.
According to an article by Arstechnica, using this inexpensive commodity like USB-C cable and wall charger would greatly lessen consumer's expenses by letting them choose from various available alternatives like portable charging stations, car charging, laptop and more.
In a press release, Nintendo did say, "By simply lifting Nintendo Switch from the dock, the system will instantly transition to portable mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home now travels with you."
"Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like," said Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO, Nintendo of America. "It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries."
The news also continued that, "it brings the full home gaming system experience with you to the park, on an airplane, in a car, or to a friend's apartment." To ease portability features, the console might be charged using USB-C.
Nintendo Switch will have a launch on Jan. 12 and would let users have an extended first view regarding technical details of the console, USB-C rumors, and games which, according to more talks, are two new Mario titles. Switch will be released in March 2017.
The Switch is the successor of Wii U and possibly, Nintendo's handheld system, the Nintendo 3DS. Until then, fans and users can only speculate.
