They bade their goodbyes in Legends of Tomorrow Season 2, Episode 7 after defeating the Denominators with a nano-weapon. We've seen Oliver and Supergirl being chill now, and that Cisco gave Kara an interdimensional gadget that will allow her to travel or talk to her Earth-1 friends.
Will Kara sight-see around Earth-1 and gets to see her doppelganger? Fans speculate. The last thing we know, the second half of the season won't be out until January 2017. But that's okay; it won't be long given that it's December for Pete's sake.
But what will happen in the second half of the season? We are plagued with possible scenarios. We've noticed another alien race looking for Mon-El, and whatever their fight will be in the next remaining episodes, will we see the formation of the Legion of Super-Heroes? It's worth to watch the group grow in Supergirl, knowing that it was 60 years ago when this iconic team was created.
Anyway, it would be interesting to see Kara's and Mon-El's relationship. But the guy has his secrets on why he left his home planet. Also, we've heard through Comicbook that Mr. Mxyzptlk is coming to the second half of Supergirl in 2017. He was introduced in the Golden Age of Comics as that imp from the fifth dimension and one of Superman's villains.
We will be seeing more of his magic and trickeries next year. And that would also mean the reappearance of Tyler Hoechlin a.k.a. Superman!
Perhaps the Supergirl/Flash musical crossover will be happening sometime soon. Though it made die hard comic fans cringe, there's also another group of audience who would like to see that happening: the Gleeks.
In an interview with IGN earlier this year, Executive Producer Todd Helbing said, "I mean, if we can get a dance sequence in there on top of it, I would love to do that."
