Plot
“Halo Wars 2” takes place in the fictional Halo Universe 28 years after the events of the previous game, Halo Wars. Halo Wars ends the game with the UNSC crew going into a cryosleep and floating into space. “Halo Wars 2” opens the game with the UNSC grew aboard the Spirit of Fire ship waking from cryosleep at the Ark, an installation where the Forerunners manufactured the Halo rings.
As the UNSC squad received a signal from an emergency beacon, they journey to the surface of the Forerunner installation battling with an alien faction called the Banished. The Banished is a group of dissenters led by Atriox, a Brute warlord, who rose to power after the Covenant’s downfall.
