Chinese Airlines Woos Western Business Travelers With Latest Premium Offerings

China's airlines are updating their services to make the tourism successful by the luminous new jets to new destinations that aim to target the passengers market that are currently dominated by Western business travelers. Reports say that during the recently held Airshow China, the country's largest air expo, their flag carrier Air China showed off virtual reality goggles in the aim to impress their long-haul business class clients.

According to Global Business Travel Association report, China accounted for a quarter of all business travel spending up from 5 percent in 2000. They are expanding their economy service abroad rather than domestics. Mainland carriers are preparing for the highest travelers, as explained by the Stuff. The Hainan Airlines revealed menus by Michelin-start chefs, joining other big airlines like China Eastern and China Southern in advertising new offerings.

The Stuff reports that their biggest competitors in Asia are Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines and Qantas. Chinese airlines will have to diminish historical doubts about safety record and to lure customers away from high-quality air miles systems.

According to Mr. Will Horton, a Hong Kong-based senior analyst for aviation consultancy CAPA, he said that "The work required to create growth is exhausting, that has not left much bandwidth to focus on strategic growth, like improving corporate and premium."

"But the push is definitely there. Why leave money behind?", Horton added. Reuters reports states that as Chinese airline carriers targets to market their premium services in advertising in places like Australia and other Western countries, they have to effectively persuade them that their services and amenities, are equally competitive and match standards for customer satisfaction around the globe.

Overcoming safety concerns and loyalty schemes remains the tallest hurdle in order to woo Western travelers and jet setters to switch to China's flagship carrier. Assuming the Chinese carriers convince their safety requirements, they still need surpass other competitors' offerings as far as services requirements are concerned, Reuters added.
