Soon, planes will offer luxury flights more expensive than first class and it involves the passengers sitting on top of the plane inside a bubble where they can enjoy the view.
The only way for someone to enjoy the view from above when riding a plane is peering towards the closest window, not to mention you'll enjoy it less if you are seated on the aisle. Now, you'll be able to enjoy a full panoramic view of the sky with SkyDeck where passengers will be seated on top of the plane protected by a bubble. There, they can have a breath taking view of the aircraft's surroundings while it's in motion. Of course, this might not be the flight privilege for the faint of heart and those who can shell out less from their pockets.
Windspeed Technologies came up with the bubble concept just last month and will be made available not only to VIP aircrafts but will also be installed in commercial airlines.
For now, the service will be offered as 'pay-per-view' where passengers get to choose whether to access the bubble canopy through staircase or elevator. They also have the option to pay for single-seat pods or two-seat pods, a suitable ride for romantic couples.
According to Shakil Hussain, CEO and lead inventor of SkyDeck, the innovative seat was invented in order to kill boredom when taking long flights. The passengers may also rotate the bubble pod 360 degrees in order to really enjoy the scene.
The teardrop design of the pod is also intentional so that it would not become an obstacle to the aircraft's tail where the bubble pod is affixed.
'The concept attracted a lot of attention at the recent conference of the National Business Aviation Association, in Las Vegas,' Hussain said. 'A large aircraft manufacturer in Europe plans to start offering the SkyDeck to potential customers soon.'
