Mindy Kaling Wreath: ‘The Mindy Project’ Host Congratulates Reese Witherspoon For Oscar Nomination; Makes Her A ‘Wreath Witherspoon’

Mindy Kaling wreath gift for Reese Witherspoon has become a trending topic into the New Year. She sent the holiday ornament, which she called the "Wreath Witherspoon" as her congratulatory present for the "Sweet Home Alabama" actress for getting a Best Actress Oscar Nomination for her performance in "Wild."

Apart from the fact that Kaling likes Witherspoon, it was also, initially, a joke for the TV host. In a happy holiday spirit, Witherspoon got in on the joke and also thanked Kaling for the gift idea.

Witherspoon was very thankful for this gift and took to Instagram to enthusiastically show her gratitude for the Mindy Kaling wreath on Sunday. She wrote, "I mean... C'mon! Best gift ever! Thanks @mindykaling for my #WreathWitherspoon #Oscar edition. #YesItsOnMyFrontDoor."

The wreath was made up of a beautiful combination of pink and purple flowers that were arranged perfectly together. It was also adorned with golden Oscar statue print outs that were scattered beautifully across its front, and a small photograph of Witherspoon right at its bottom part.

This Mindy Kaling wreath trend first started when the TV personality hung a "Wreath Witherspoon" during her Christmas episode for "The Mindy Project." Her fans and followers were quick to catch on and made their own versions of wreaths to share on social media.

Kaling told Liz Hernandez of Access Hollywood during the People Magazine Awards on Dec. 18, "I was happy that that caught on so much. That was cool because when we shot that scene, it was a little part of the scene, and Reese Witherspoon's a good actress. We like her."

As soon as the "Wild" star got wind of a décor that was named after her, which, coincidentally, was also on Christmas Day, she immediately posted a Christmas message on Instagram, showing herself while peeking right through the center of a wreath.
