Philadelphia Taxi Thousand Dollar Tip - Apparently, good Samaritans still exist. One proof is a mystery man who had left a $1000 tip for a taxi driver. Given the passenger only asked for a minute worth ride, the tip was certainly huge.
The Philadelphia taxi thousand dollar tip driver has been identified as Mr. Oumar Maiga of Freedom Taxi. Maiga was working on Friday, during his usual night shift. Friday night leading to Saturday morning was when the surprising deed involving Maiga pushed through.
A rider had flagged Maiga's taxi at around 2nd and Market streets at Old City. It took less than a minute to get the passenger to his destination. During the short ride, the passenger asked how Maiga's night was going. Little did he know that he'd be the Philadelphia taxi thousand dollar tip driver.
After arriving at the Columbus Boulevard near Holiday Inn Express, Maiga was surprised to see such a huge amount on his receipt. The man had left the Philadelphia taxi thousand dollar tip, which was approximately $989.98 for only a $4.31 fare. Thinking the passenger had made a mistake, Maiga immediately stopped the passenger from heading out of his cab.
"I think you just made an accident," says Maiga, adding, "You see this, it's almost a thousand dollars including the tip."
The passenger surprisingly said it was all good and that the huge tip was simply his way of "taking care" of Maiga. Before leaving the cab, the passenger greeted Maiga a happy holiday. The Philadelphia taxi thousand dollar tip driver certainly had one of the best nights.
Despite the huge tip, Maiga still heads out to work every night. According to his boss, Everett Abitbol, Maiga remains to be the polite and kind driver. With his personality, it was no surprise he'd be the Philadelphia taxi thousand dollar tip driver.
